Telecommunication and data transmission systems
To determine the supervisory control and data transmission structure, the current status of the telecommunication and control systems is investigated. A possibility for rehabilitation of the existing telecommunication systems is considered. The final objective is to establish the integrated environment of the telecommunications, data transmission, relay protection and emergency controls; and to elaborate solutions for information exchange with other market players. The following technologies are used: high-frequency communication, radio-relay links, fiber-optic lines, MUX, satellite communications, etc.
Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA)
SCADA is a main monitoring and supervisory control system. For a purpose of the design, the signalling, measurement and remote control scope is determined. SCADA directly interacts with relay protection and control terminal equipment, emergency control, fire-fighting, security alarm and other systems. To ensure communication of SCADA with higher control levels, engineering solutions of interfaces, protocols and data transmission rates are developed. Process visualization is provided as well.
Automated Electricity Metering System (AEMS)
To control the electric power generated and supplied to consumers, automated electricity metering systems (AEMS) are introduced. For this purpose, such works as development of AEMS design basis, FEED and detailed design documentation are carried out and necessary approvals are obtained.
Electric energy quality control system (EEQCS)
Since the quality requirements to the electric energy are being upgraded now, we design the electric energy quality control systems (EEQCS). We pay special attention to define requirements for installation of the EEQCS and functionality of terminal equipment.
Relay protection and controls
Protection of the major equipment is a must requirement to the design of energy facilities. We develop relay protection and line controls concepts including coordination of relay protection devices with control systems, communications facilities and any substation elements.
Additional information
The Telecommunications, Telecontrol and Relay Protection division can provide assistance in the following activities: Mounting supervision and installation of equipment; approval of interfacing protocols for equipment of different types; service maintenance; personnel training; if necessary, assessment of service personnel qualification and development of training programs including recommendations relating to professional advancement centers.
