The Institute was established in 1962 as the Department for Integrated Design of Energy Systems of ENERGOSETPROYEKT, the All-Union Design, Survey and Research Institute. In 1993, by order of the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, ENERGOSETPROYEKT was reorganized into the Kazakhstan Lead Research, Design and Survey Institute of Fuel and Energy Systems “Energia”. At present the Institute is in 100% Kazakh ownership. In 2016 a design engineering department consisting of 56 specialists was established.

KazRDSI “Energia” JSC has the following main business divisions: power supply engineering, high-voltage transmission lines, substations, surveying, construction, relay protection, telecommunications and secondary wiring. The Institute's staff is 165 employees.

Our Institute has brought up and nurtured many talented specialists who are well-known in the energy industry both in the Republic of Kazakhstan and abroad. Now they share their experience to the younger generation.

During its operation in Kazakhstan KAZRDSI “Energia” JSC has proven itself as a fair and reliable partner aiming at clients operating actively in Kazakhstan. Every day, we establish and deepen the confidence of our clients and partners being a major key to success of our business.
